Thank you to everyone for a wonderful meeting on February 7th - the social hour was a great success and many thanks to our speaker, Dr. Karen Von Dollen from the NCSU Vet School.

The next club meeting will be at Town And Country Animal Care (2010 N. Salem Street, Apex, NC 27523) on April 4th, 2018. There will be a social hour before the meeting with pizza, wine, and soft drinks, starting at 7:00 PM.

Our program for the April 4th meeting is on the AKC DETECTION DOG PROGRAM

As homegrown terrorism and mass shootings become regular news in America, the demand for explosives detection dogs grows. In addition to the US government, schools, universities, malls, theaters and concert venues are seeking the services of bomb dogs with one major problem: there are not enough dogs to meet the demand. The AKC formed a task force two years ago to research this issue and how the AKC and its breeders might help. A national conference on the subject is planned for August in Durham. AKC staffers Mark Dunn and Penny Leigh will speak about the issue and the work of the task force.

Remember to bring a chair!

Our next event is part of the Labor Day Shows at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds.
